A video showing the manager of K-pop group ENHYPEN striking a bystander with a stack of papers at an airport in Tokyo, Japan, has gone viral, drawing heated debate online. While some claim it was an attempt to protect a member’s privacy, many argue violence cannot be justified.

On August 9, clips circulated on X (formerly Twitter) showing ENHYPEN’s manager hitting a passerby on the head with a stack of papers at a Tokyo airport, then telling them to “step back” before blocking further approach toward member Jungwon.
The manager was also seen apparently mistaking an airport staff member assisting with departure procedures for a fan and raising the paper stack as if to strike.
While some fans claimed the bystander was trying to photograph a passport, critics insist that no situation warrants physical assault.
This incident follows a string of controversies involving idol security personnel. In June, a Hearts2Hearts bodyguard assaulted a fan on the Incheon Airport shuttle train, and on July 31, a ZEROBASEONE manager was accused of threatening a fan with his fist.
