A Korean woman was fatally stabbed in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, Japan, and the suspect, a Korean man, was arrested at Haneda Airport.

■ Incident and Victim’s Condition
At around 1:35 p.m. on September 1, local police received a report that a woman was lying bleeding on the street in Nozawa, Setagaya Ward. The victim, a woman in her 40s of Korean nationality, sustained a fatal neck wound and was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead about an hour and a half later.

■ Shocking Crime in a Safe Neighborhood
The incident occurred near Komazawa University Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, an area generally regarded as a safe residential neighborhood. A local resident told NHK, “I was shocked to see so much blood on the street.”

■ Suspect’s Escape and Arrest
Based on witness testimonies and security camera footage, police identified and tracked the suspect, a Korean man in his 30s. Just a few hours after the crime, he was arrested at Haneda Airport while attempting to leave. Investigators believe he had recently entered Japan from Korea specifically to meet the victim. The murder weapon has not yet been recovered.

■ Victim Had Already Sought Police Help
It was later revealed that on August 29, just days before the incident, the victim had visited a local police station to report issues with a former partner after attempting to end the relationship. This has raised strong suspicions that the murder was not a random act but rather a case of dating violence and potential stalking.

■ Safety Measures for Students
Following the incident, the Setagaya Board of Education issued an emergency directive, prohibiting students at local elementary and middle schools from returning to campus and delaying the dismissal of students already at school for safety reasons.
