📍Police arrest man in his 50s linked to the victim; autopsy ordered to determine cause of death
A woman in her 20s, known as a TikTok creator and reported missing in Yongin, was found dead in a mountainous area of Muju, North Jeolla Province. Police have arrested a man in his 50s who was last seen with the victim and are expanding the investigation to uncover the full circumstances.

■ From Missing Report to Discovery
On September 12, the family of a young TikToker identified as A reported her missing after losing contact in the afternoon. A, who had been actively producing video content on TikTok, was known to have recently worked with a man in his 50s, referred to as B.
Police traced her movements through phone records and CCTV footage, confirming that she traveled toward Muju with B in his car.
■ Arrest of the Suspect
At around 5 a.m. on September 13, police spotted B driving in Muju. When asked to show identification, he attempted to flee. Officers arrested him on charges of obstructing official duties, suspecting his involvement in A’s disappearance. B reportedly told investigators he had argued with A before parting ways, but authorities considered his account suspicious.
■ Body Found Near Arrest Site
The following morning, on September 14, police discovered a partially decomposed female body just 50 to 100 meters away from the location where B had been apprehended. Based on clothing and surrounding evidence, investigators believe the body is that of the missing TikToker. The remains were sent to the National Forensic Service for autopsy to confirm identity and cause of death.
■ Connection Through TikTok Projects
The victim and B had reportedly collaborated several times on video-related projects since May. Authorities are examining the nature of their relationship and whether it played a role in the crime.
■ Evidence Tampering Suspected
Investigators found that the memory card of the in-vehicle black box in B’s car was missing, raising suspicions that he attempted to destroy crucial evidence. Digital forensic analysis has been launched to recover possible data.
■ Police Statement and Next Steps
The Yongin Dongbu Police stated, “The suspect has so far refused to provide meaningful testimony, but we are pursuing all forensic methods to uncover the truth.” Officials plan to determine the victim’s final movements, the exact time of death, and B’s potential motive.
