1. Korean Man Arrested in Kyoto for Hidden Camera Crime
A Korean man in his 20s was arrested by local police in Kyoto, Japan, for illegally filming under the skirts of female Korean tourists.
According to Japan’s ABC News on the 1st, the 23-year-old Korean man, referred to as Mr. A, was arrested around 1 p.m. at a temple in Kita Ward, Kyoto City, for secretly filming the underwear of two female Korean tourists using his smartphone.
The crime was noticed by another tourist who saw Mr. A approaching the victims and alerted a Korean tour guide, who then reported it to the Kyoto police.
Mr. A had entered Osaka from Korea on April 30 for sightseeing and joined a tour in Kyoto on the 1st.
During the police investigation, Mr. A admitted to the charges, stating that he "intended to view them alone" and did it out of "thrill and curiosity."

After lengthy negotiations, authorities were able to persuade the woman to come down safely by 3:18 p.m., about an hour and 40 minutes after the initial report.
