25.03.28.Today News : Johnny Somali appears at rally against impeachment / Late Sulli’s Family Speaks Out
Johnny Somali, an American YouTuber who previously sparked controversy by mocking the "Statue of Peace" and causing disturbances at a convenience store, has now appeared at a rally organized by conservative groups opposing the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol.
On the 28th, various online communities shared footage of Somali participating in the rally held near Anguk Station, close to the Constitutional Court, on the 27th.
In the released video, Somali can be seen holding a placard distributed by Yoon's supporters, which read, "Pro-North Leftists & Chinese Communist Party OUT," while chanting, "CCP OUT." He was also seen wearing a red hat with "MAGA" (Make America Great Again), a slogan from former U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign. Later that day, near Jongno 5-ga Station, he was reportedly struck in the head by a passerby who recognized him.
Legal experts have pointed out that foreigners participating in political rallies within South Korea may be subject to deportation.
According to Article 17 of the Immigration Control Act, foreigners residing in South Korea are prohibited from engaging in political activities. Furthermore, Article 46 states that any foreigner who engages in political activities may be subject to deportation from the country.
Legal analysts have clarified that these provisions regulate the scope of foreigners' stay and activities in Korea, with political activities encompassing participation in rallies and public expressions of political opinions via social media.
Previously, in October last year, Somali was prosecuted for causing a disturbance at a convenience store in Mapo-gu, Seoul, by playing loud music and deliberately spilling instant noodle soup to obstruct employees' work. He has also engaged in other disruptive behaviors, such as carrying foul-smelling fish in public and behaving inappropriately on public transportation like buses and subways. His actions, including kissing the Statue of Peace in an inappropriate manner, have sparked national outrage. He is currently facing legal complaints related to assault, drug offenses, and the distribution of sexually explicit content.
Following the recent statements from the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, the family of the late Sulli has also spoken up.
Sulli’s older brother, A, stated, "Over the past six years, our family has endured deep sorrow and countless tears, but we have also felt immense gratitude for the support and kindness shown to us."
He added, "We couldn’t simply turn a blind eye to Kim Sae-ron’s passing as if it were someone else’s concern," and expressed his deepest condolences to Kim Sae-ron’s bereaved family.
A also called for explanations from film director Lee Sa-rang and actor Kim Soo-hyun, who are connected to the movie *Real*, in which Sulli starred. Lee Sa-rang, Kim Soo-hyun’s cousin, directed the film and later founded Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun’s current agency. Sulli had participated in explicit scenes in *Real*, which reportedly caused her significant distress.
A claimed, "According to testimonies from staff and actors, there was a body double present for Sulli’s nude scenes during filming. So why was she convinced to do the bed and nude scenes herself instead of using the double?"
He continued, "Kim Soo-hyun and Lee Sa-rang initially claimed that the body double could not make it due to illness, but reports indicate that the double was indeed present on set." He also emphasized, "There are many things we learned at Sulli’s funeral, but I will only ask fact-based questions. Please respond sincerely."
A revealed that after filming *Real*, Sulli told those around her that she would "never act in a movie again" and reportedly sought psychiatric treatment due to the stress. He also expressed his willingness to meet with Kim Sae-ron’s bereaved family to share their grief if they so wished.
A has previously posted messages aimed at Kim Soo-hyun. On social media, he recently wrote, "It has been six years since I lost my sister, six years since you played with her like a toy, and six years of pain you will now endure. Please don’t break too quickly."
Dear All, This is Sulli’s Family
First of all, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the late Kim Sae-ron. May she rest in peace.
Before proceeding, I ask for your understanding as this message may not be perfectly structured.
For the past six years, our family has endured immense grief and sorrow. However, we have also been deeply grateful for the support and kindness shown by so many people.
It is for this reason that we could not simply overlook the passing of Kim Sae-ron as if it were unrelated to us.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Kim Sae-ron’s bereaved family during this difficult time.
During Sulli’s funeral in 2019, we became aware of certain concerns regarding the filming of the movie *Real* in 2017, particularly regarding the bed scene.
As this matter has not been widely publicized, we do not possess complete knowledge of the facts. However, we were informed that there was a body double designated for the nude scene. Contrary to previous claims that the double was unable to attend due to illness, we were told that the individual was, in fact, present on set.
As the person directly involved is no longer with us, it is difficult to ascertain the full truth. However, we would greatly appreciate it if Kim Soo-hyun and the film’s director at the time, Mr. Lee Sa-rang (also known as Lee Rove), could provide clarification on the following points:
1. Based on testimonies from staff and actors at the funeral, we understand that the bed scene between Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not originally depicted in such explicit detail in the script. We would appreciate it if Mr. Kim Soo-hyun could share his perspective on this matter.
2. Regarding Sulli’s nude scene, we have learned that a body double was present on set. May we ask why the body double was not utilized? Furthermore, we would like to understand the circumstances under which Sulli was persuaded to personally perform the bed and nude scenes.
3. Initially, it was stated that the body double could not attend due to illness. However, accounts from those present at the funeral suggest that the double was actually on set that day. We would like to verify whether this is accurate.
There are many other matters we have come to learn about, but we are limiting our inquiries to these three key questions in pursuit of factual clarification. We sincerely hope for a transparent response.
Once again, we extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron and wish them strength during this difficult time.
