According to the person who filmed the scene, the elderly woman occasionally sells homegrown produce near the shop. “I saw the boy approach her, ask about the vegetables and prices, and try to pay, but they didn’t have change,” they said. “Eventually, the boy took the woman by the hand and went to a nearby store to break his bill, returning to give her money.”

The boy was identified as Ok (14), a second-year student at Dongducheon Middle School. On his way home from school, he met the elderly vendor and offered her 30,000 won from the 50,000-won emergency fund he had been saving from pocket change.
