Hwang Hee-chan Faces “Power Abuse” Allegations…Supercar Abandonment and Free Service Dispute

📍Protocol agency and rental company clash with agency over management rights, ₩600M services, and SNS promotion

South Korean national team forward Hwang Hee-chan (30, Wolverhampton) has denied allegations of abusing protocol services, with his agency announcing legal action. Claims by a protocol service company and a supercar rental firm sharply conflict with the player’s side.

🔹 Background of the Allegations
According to reports on Feb. 12, protocol service firm “Bahana” and supercar rental company “UK Company” alleged that Hwang demanded excessive services and received unpaid benefits.

The companies cited abandonment of a luxury vehicle, private errands, and failure to provide promotional support. However, Hwang’s agency, The HC Corporation, dismissed the claims as false and warned of legal action.

🔹 Issue 1: Ferrari Abandonment on Yeongdong Bridge
The companies claimed Hwang left a Ferrari Purosangue worth several hundred million won on the roadside with hazard lights on, causing traffic congestion and risk of secondary accidents.

The agency countered that he waited about 15 minutes inside the car for assistance and that the company representative acknowledged improper vehicle guidance. Leaving the scene was for safety reasons and due to service provider negligence.

🔹 Issue 2: ₩600 Million Worth of Free Services
The companies alleged they provided about ₩600 million worth of vehicles, drivers, and protocol services over 15 months based on a promise of management authority, including funeral arrangements and family trip errands.

The agency stated funeral services were contractual obligations and the trip assistance was a promotional workshop initiated by the company. It also said it paid accommodation costs, about ₩11 million in incentives, and over ₩10 million in meals, while Hwang did not charge modeling fees.

🔹 Issue 3: Promise of Management Authority
The companies said they invested based on repeated verbal assurances of management control.

The agency denied any official agreement, saying the remarks were informal and misinterpreted. It added that it helped expand the company’s business through ambassador connections.

🔹 Issue 4: SNS Promotion Dispute
The companies claimed they expected social media promotion but suffered marketing losses when requests were ignored.

The agency said the company declined tagging due to unprepared accounts and that it promoted the company through banners and broadcast exposure. It also alleged unauthorized use of Hwang’s image in a used-car sales post.

🔹 Issue 5: Contract Termination
The companies argued they were discarded after major brand partnerships were secured.

The agency stated trust collapsed after discovering past criminal history, financial problems, and closure of the contracting company, making the August 2025 contract termination unavoidable.

🔹 Official Agency Statement
The agency said allegations of abuse and unpaid service exploitation were false and pledged legal action.

It cited contractual free-service terms, Hwang’s unpaid promotional participation, unauthorized portrait use, and concealment of business closure as grounds.

One-line summary : Hwang Hee-chan and service providers are headed for a legal dispute over allegations involving a supercar incident, unpaid services, and contract terms.
