[26.02.23] Jeon Han-gil March 1 Concert Controversy: Performers Withdraw, Civic Group Threatens Lawsuit
📍Allegations of unauthorized use of performers’ images and undisclosed political nature; singers and host withdraw
A civic group announced plans to file fraud and defamation complaints against conservative YouTuber Jeon Han-gil over a March 1 Independence Movement commemorative concert, as listed performers began publicly denying participation.

🔹 Civic Group Allegations
The group claimed performers’ names and photos were used without prior consent and that paid tickets were marketed without properly disclosing the event’s political nature or confirmed appearances.
Potential charges cited include attempted fraud, online defamation, false advertising, and violations of performance safety obligations.
The event is scheduled for March 2 at KINTEX in Goyang, with ticket prices ranging from 50,000 to 70,000 won.
🔹 Performers Withdraw
After promotional posters were released, singer Tae Jin-ah and former MBC announcer Lee Jae-yong denied participation.
Tae Jin-ah’s side said they would pursue legal action for defamation, while Lee stated he declined after recognizing the event’s nature and requested removal from promotional materials. Other listed performers also publicly withdrew, saying they were told only it was a commemorative concert.
🔹 Jeon Han-gil Response
Jeon said he merely introduced a poster provided by the event organizer and suggested the withdrawals were influenced by political pressure. He added he would continue the event even if attendance was low.
🔹 Ticket Sales Low
The 10,000-seat venue had sold roughly 6.43% of tickets as of the morning report, raising uncertainty over whether the concert will proceed and whether legal disputes will follow.
