Muse - Time Is Running Out (Live @ Glastonbury 2010)

 

 

매년 영국 글라스톤베리에서 열리는 'Glastonbury Festival'이라는 음악 축제가 열린다. 흔히 말하는 락 페스티벌이다. 지금은 세계최고수준의 락 페스티벌이 되었고, 참여하는 뮤지션들 또한 세계최고수준의 뮤지션들이 참여한다. 3일동안 열리는 이 락페스티벌에는 매년 18만명의 관객이 찾는다. 캠핑을 거의 1년 전에 캠핑장 예약을 해야 한다. 

2010년에 뮤즈도 이 세계적인 락페스티벌에 참여했다. 그것도 헤드라이너로 말이다. 헤드라이너는 1일 공연중 가장 마지막에 하이라이트로 공연하는 사람을 말하며 공연시간도 다른 뮤지션보다 많은 90분 공연을 한다. 그만큼 뮤즈의 인기가 많았다는 반증이다.

뮤즈는 1997년에 결성한 영국출신으로 보컬과 기타에 매튜 벨라미(Matthew Bellamy),  베이스에 크리스 볼첸홈(Chris Wolstenhome), 드럼에 도미닉 하워드(Dominic Howard)의 3인조 밴드이다. 그들의 첫 데뷔앨범[Showbiz]을 1999년에 발매하면서 영국뿐만 아니라 세계적으로 알려지게 되었다.

영상에 나오는 곡은 3집 [Absolution]에 수록된 타이틀 곡 <Time Is Running Out>이다. 곡 초반부에 나오는 기타리프가 인상적인 곡이다. 이 곡은 광고에 먼저 쓰이면서 우리나라에 알려지게 되었고, 지금은 우리나라에서 락밴드 중에 가장 유명한 밴드가 되었다. 

이 유명세로 인해 지난 2010년에 두차례 내한공연을 하기도 했다.
